FUTURES Photography - Secretary

About FUTURES FUTURES started in 2017 as an initiative of Menno Liauw from Vandejong

Creative Agency and quickly grew into an international platform connecting a network of leading European photography institutions.

To ensure the continuity of the program, the activities were placed under an independent foundation. The first board had a business focus because the emphasis in the initial phase was on building a solid organizational base. The foundation has since established an administration, drawn up multi-year plans, secured follow-up financing, extended international partnerships – including the contract with Creative Europe and Pro Helvetia – and concluded new sponsorship agreements. Transition from Interim Business Board to Regular Board FUTURES is now in a next phase of substantive and institutional development. Therefore, the board will be partially replaced by members who, in addition to management experience, also bring knowledge and networks from the cultural sector, education, and the international creative industry.

The board as a whole The position of treasurer has already been filled. The new board may later decide to add supplementary expertise, for example, from the cultural field, education, or the creative industry. • Management experience and governance • Business experience in the commercial sector, within or outside the creative industry • Knowledge of the cultural and photographic sector • International cultural networks • Experience with education and talent development • Strategic and institutional insight • Strong networks across brands, philanthropy, and partner organisations, with the ability to foster collaborations and secure strategic support for FUTURES
